If I owe you an email, a phone call or maybe a meal (because you’ve recently had a baby – you know who you are), please know that I do love you.
I’m not trying to ignore you or isolate you.
Or to deliberately not spend time with you.
I have been busy – very busy. I have been wiping noses and butts and teaching my little ones how to look both ways before crossing a street. You see, I am in the process of shaping my children into the types of people that I will one day be proud to leave behind.
And this job of mine? It requires 99.9% of my attention, dedication, love, and patience.
This is one job that I take very seriously.
I don’t love you any less than before. Whether you’re my mom, dad, grandparent, in-law, sister, brother, or a close friend, I have been focused, determined and motivated to do the best job that I can.
I do think of you often while I’m waking in the morning, nourishing a baby, taking a shower or driving in the car.
I think of you every day when I look into my child’s eyes and realize that I want her to behold the qualities that I love most about you.
Happy Mother’s Day today and every day!
