Fantastically Funny Friday (1/27/2012) – Daddy’s Sneeze

Happy Friday!

This morning, my 4 and 2 year old daughters and I were getting into the car to go to their preschool.  My 4 year old was having difficulty getting into her carseat, and said “Oh my God!”  I explained to her that we don’t use that phrase, and why, and gave her some alternative suggestions to say when she gets frustrated.  She thought about it for a few seconds, and then asks, “so it’s kind of like when daddy says BAMMIT! after he hurts himself and I get to tell him not to use bad words, right?!”

Kids sure do mirror their parents - sometimes a little bit too much!

Saw this video earlier in the week and thought it was super cute.

-Which of your actions/words have your babies mimicked?

Fantastically Funny Friday (1/20/2012) – Sledding Crow?

Happy Friday!

I have never seen anything like this, other than on shows where people train birds and other animals to do tricks. But to think that this family in Russia just happened to catch this wild crow catching some powder cracks me up. Who would have known that crows were so smart?! Speaking of powder, where is the snow this year?

-Have you ever seen a wild animal do something that surprised you?
-Has your town had any snow this year?

Fantastically Funny Friday (1/13/2012) – 4YO Owns Toy Maker

Meet Stella, quite possibly the world’s youngest and cutest dinosaur expert. On a recent trip to the toy store with her father, the 4 year old points out that one toy maker forgot to do his homework. The triceratops in her hands, she says, is in fact a styracosaurus. Of course! (Yeah, I had to google it).

We hope you have a fantastic Friday!

Fantastically Funny Friday (1/6/2012) – Cat Soothes Baby

The video below recently went viral, and once you see it, it’ll be easy to see why. Watch as Stewie the cat’s gentle strokes soothe baby Connar into peaceful slumber.

Happy Friday!

The Best of Purebebe 2011

As the year winds down, Jasmine and I decided to put together a “Best of Purebebe” list for 2011. This list was generated based on the number of times readers viewed these articles during 2011.

Although we had planned to have a resolutions post done for 2011, we have simply run out of time with the holidays. So we’ll take a minute to share our Purebebe resolutions with you. ;)

First, the really fun news…
This year we have seen a drastic increase in search engine traffic, mainly because we weren’t getting any love from search engines for the first year and a half that we were blogging (long story, but many thanks to Jasmine for figuring everything out and fixing the issue).

Next, the “what we’re working on” stuff…
One of our objectives for 2012 is to work on generating more comments from you – our readers. By the end of 2011, traffic to our site has more than quadrupled from what it was at the beginning of this year. And we are VERY happy about that! As you may or may not know, Jasmine and I currently don’t make any money from this site. We do a ton of research (research that we’d probably be doing anyways as parents) and publish that research and knowledge so that others can benefit from it. That being said, we’d like to hear from you more often (your thoughts, your ideas, your suggestions)! Please leave comments at the end of the posts, and if you try one of our recipes and like/don’t like it, please come back and let us know.

You can search for anything on our site in the search window, located in the right navigation panel on your screen, directly above “Recent Posts.” We also have a “Blog Archives” link at the top of this page, which allows you to search for articles based on topics.

If you are a new reader to Purebebe, welcome! And if you are one of our faithful readers who’s been with us for a while, well, we wouldn’t still be here doing what we’re doing without you.

-What were your favorite articles from 2011?

-What would you like us to focus on in 2012?

So without further ado, we’d like to present our 2011 Best-of-Purebebe articles:

Fantastically Funny Friday (12/23/2011) – The Christmas Story

The Christmas Story couldn’t be retold any better than by these adorable children from St. Paul’s Church in Auckland, New Zealand. This video is full of innocence, sweetness, the cutest little Kiwi accents, and a few giggle-worthy moments as well. My personal favorite is when Mary first enters the picture with her pregnant womb. This is so clever and the perfect introduction to a Christmas weekend - a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

Heather and I wish you and your families a happy Friday and a very Merry Christmas! May you all be blessed!

XOXO,

Fantastically Funny Friday (12/16/2011) – Baby Has Robotic Arms

Have you ever watched your child sleep and discovered an unusual sleeping habit? The baby in this week’s video has a chuckle-worthy habit, though I can’t decide which is funnier - this baby’s robotic arms or the parents’ attempts to contain their laughter.

Have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend!

XOXO,
Jasmine & Heather

Fantastically Funny Friday (12/9/2011) – “The Sneeze”

I literally have tears streaming down my face after watching this video and laughing so hard. I could picture both of my little girls in her shoes, having the same disgusted look on their faces during their upcoming school holiday pageant.

The look on her face is priceless, “Um, did that really just happen? Did anyone else see it? Is anyone going to help this kid out or what? Am I supposed to keep singing while this kid’s nose looks like that?”

-Have you ever witnessed a similar reaction from your child?

Hope you have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Fantastically Funny Friday (12/2/2011) – Bad Santa Photos by Ellen

Happy Friday!

I am still laughing at my kids’ Santa photo from last year. Jasmine and I avoid posting photos of our kids on PureBebe (yes, we are paranoid), but we both feel that it’s better to be safe than sorry. Judging from some of the search terms that people use and land on our site, we are both really thankful that there aren’t a gazillion photos of our kids (attached to our names) floating out there in cyberspace.

So unfortunately I can’t share the photo. I can, however, tell you that my 1 year old is crying hysterically while my 2 year old (at the time) has this shy, but sweet smile on her face. And my one year old who’s crying is wearing a T-shirt that clearly states “99% Angel.”

I guess we caught her in her other 1%. ;)

I happened to catch this video last night and was cracking up at these photos, too, from Ellen.

I mean, who wouldn’t be weirded out by a man wearing a white and red suit, with facial hair down to his chest?! Not that there’s anything wrong with facial hair. Just sayin’…

Hope you have a great weekend!

-Heather & Jasmine

Fantastically Funny Friday (11/18/2011) – Lily’s Disneyland Surprise

Admittedly, this video made me laugh, and it also made me cry. A lot. There aren’t too many things that can make me cry because I’m uber happy, but this video triggered that response. I don’t know if it’s because I’m hormonal from being pregnant, or because I have been dreaming of pulling a similar stunt on my own daughters when they’re old enough to appreciate Disneyland. Either way, I love Lily’s reaction in this video – it is so innocent, sweet, and pure.

Happy Friday!

Have you taken your kids to Disneyland?
What were their reactions when you told them?

-Heather & Jasmine
